Artist: Love Sculpture: mp3 download Genre(s): Rock Discography: Forms and Feelings Year: 1999 Tracks: 8 Blues Helping Year: 1999 Tracks: 11 A British blues-rock dance orchestra of the late '60s that, contempt organism identical just, would unremarkably be relegated to footer status if it were non for the fact that the spark advance guitarist of this trio was the soon-to-be-famous Dave Edmunds. Like many exchangeable bands of the multiplication, Love Sculpture was very a piece de resistance for Edmunds' guitar-playing talents (which on the first LP are considerable), and little else. The covers are felicitous, slightly revved-up, simply loosely reverent versions of vapors classics. They had a good luck hit in 1968 with a cover of the classic man "Saber Dance," rearranged for guitar. After deuce LPs, Love Sculpture split up in 1970. Edmunds went on to solo success ("I Hear You Knockin'") and a long, sometimes combative family relationship with ex-Brinsley Schwarz bassist Nick Lowe, which culminated in the great band Rockpile. Still, Love Sculpture, though somewhat dated, is a tinker's damn to listen. And Edmunds, wide of vernal bluster and gross technique, for sure knows his way up and downward a fret table. |
